Memorial Healthcare System Earns Major Recognitions for Digital Practices
Memorial Healthcare System is one of two recipients nationally to receive the inaugural Synergy Award, which is given to healthcare organizations for achieving the highest level of excellence in electronic health record (EHR), user experience, and digital health innovation.
The recognition, presented at the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) Fall Forum in San Diego, was jointly awarded by CHIME and KLAS Research. Results from the KLAS Arch Collaborative Survey, which assesses physician satisfaction with EHR systems, were a contributing factor in Memorial's receipt of the award.
“Recognition from prestigious organizations such as CHIME highlights the fantastic advancements in healthcare technologies and practices underway at Memorial,” said Jeffrey Sturman, senior vice president and chief digital information officer at Memorial Healthcare System. "Advancing technology in healthcare isn't just about innovation - it's about enhancing patient care, streamlining operations, and ensuring that we can meet the evolving needs of both clinicians and patients. As we continue to improve our digital infrastructure, we're building a future where every touchpoint empowers better outcomes for all.”
Another key element in Memorial’s recognition of the Synergy Award was its recent achievement in the 2024 Digital Health Most Wired Survey, where it attained an impressive Level 9 status in both the Acute and Ambulatory survey categories. This survey is designed to reflect the progress of leading healthcare providers as they reshape healthcare for the future.
“We have designed the Digital Health Most Wired program to provide insights into best practices, HIT (Health Information Technology) adoption patterns, and digital health market trends,” said CHIME President and CEO Russ Branzell.
The survey evaluates organizations on the adoption, integration and impact of technologies. Almost 48,000 organizations took part in this year’s survey, Memorial stood out by outperforming its peers in key areas such as:
- Analytics and data management
- Population health
- Infrastructure
- Patient engagement
