About Me

I am the medical director of cardiac electrophysiology at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Memorial Healthcare System. I am board certified in pediatrics, pediatric cardiology, adult congenital heart disease (ABIM), pediatric electrophysiology (IBHRE) with residencies and fellowships training in pediatrics, pediatric cardiology and the subspecialties of pediatric electrophysiology and pediatric interventional cardiology.

This unique mix of knowledge, expertise and experience allows me to care for children and adults with congenital heart defects and complex rhythm problems including fast heart rhythms (supraventricular tachycardia or SVT) requiring medications or ablation procedures; slow heart rhythm managed with pacemakers; and dangerous abnormal rhythms (such as ventricular tachycardia or VT) treated by medications, ablations and defibrillators.

I was drawn to pediatric cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology, due to my fascination for the mathematical, deductive and problem-solving nature of these sciences and the use of interventions and technology in addition to traditional medications to cure and treat conditions. Throughout my 25+ year medical career in India, the United Kingdom and the USA, my priority has been the involvement of family and their values in a personalized care plan. I see it as a coveted privilege to care for patients and their families and strive to bring the medicine, technology and available options to them, and then simplify it all into a family-centric treatment plan. In my opinion, family engagement is critical, as the treatment plan with the same science may be different for families/patients depending on many factors.

The most rewarding aspect of my work is the daily interaction with kids. I continue to learn from their perspective about their conditions and lives and often take inspiration and information to help others that I treat.
